The New England Shoulder and Elbow Society (NESES) is a regional professional organization dedicated to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and research of shoulder and elbow conditions. Since its founding, the Society has served as a collaborative forum where orthopedic surgeons, fellows, residents, researchers, and industry partners come together to exchange knowledge, explore emerging techniques, and strengthen the practice of upper extremity care throughout New England.
Through education, professional collaboration, and scientific discussion, NESES fosters an environment that supports lifelong learning and ultimately improves patient outcomes.
NESES exists to promote excellence in shoulder and elbow care by bringing together professionals with a shared commitment to education, innovation, and collaboration.
The Society encourages the exchange of clinical experience, research, and emerging technologies through educational programming, scientific presentations, and professional networking. By connecting established leaders with the next generation of orthopedic specialists, NESES helps advance the field while strengthening relationships across the New England orthopedic community.
NESES was conceived by Dr. Jon J.P. Warner, whose vision was to establish a dedicated regional forum for shoulder and elbow specialists throughout New England. Inspired while attending an international shoulder meeting in France, Dr. Warner shared the idea with several colleagues who embraced the concept and worked together to bring it to life.
Within just over a year, the Society established both its organizational identity and its inaugural annual meeting, creating opportunities for orthopedic professionals to share knowledge, discuss challenging cases, and build lasting professional relationships.
Since 2004, the NESES Annual Meeting has been held in partnership with Jay Peak Resort in Jay, Vermont. Over the years, it has grown into a respected educational conference featuring regional, national, and international faculty. Today, NESES continues to build upon that original vision by providing a welcoming environment for education, collaboration, and professional growth.
The New England Shoulder and Elbow Society is led by a dedicated group of orthopedic surgeons and volunteers who are committed to advancing the Society’s mission and supporting its educational programs.
Working together with faculty, industry partners, and meeting organizers, the leadership team guides the Society’s strategic direction, oversees the Annual Meeting, and helps ensure that NESES continues to provide valuable educational opportunities for members throughout New England.
